Dark Night of the Soul

“…I find the sound of the Owl reassuring - a reminder that in the pause we reconnect to ourselves, including the parts we have shamed or disowned, reconnecting to the natural cycles of life and so to the collective subconscious and essentially to our own creative power…”

This is a soundscape and text that was selected for the MUCK (Must Use Critical Knowledge) and aTE collaborative online library where artists were prompted to share a piece that reflecting isolation during 2020.

The sound and text was literal and metaphorical - the recorded sound of the Owl captured in Sarah’s garden transformed into a totem for her experience, a metaphor for the dark transformation happening individually but also collectively. A call to connect to our creative and wild selves.
